Philip Zoubek (*1978 in Tulln / Austria) lives and works as a pianist and composer in Cologne. From 1996 Zoubek studied jazz piano with Reinhard Micko in Vienna. In 2000 he moved to Cologne, where he studied with Hans Lüdemann.

In 2008 he received the Horst and Gretl Will Scholarship of the City of Cologne. In 2020 he was awarded the WDR Jazz Prize for Composition. Since the end of 2020, he is a NICA fellow of the European Center for Jazz and Contemporary Music.

Since 2017, Philip Zoubek has curated the concert series “Facetten” at the Cologne Loft.

Zoubek has worked with Tony Buck, Wilbert de Joode, Louis Sclavis, Franz Hautzinger, Xavier Charles, Tom Rainey and Jozef Dumoulin, among others.

He played concerts at the Konzerthaus Vienna, Philharmonie Luxembourg, Jazzfest Berlin, Moers festival, Jazzfestival Saalfelden, Ulrichsberger Kaleidophon and GetItLouder Festival Shanghai/Beijing among others.

Philip Zoubek is a founding member of the Cologne Collective for Improvisation & Contemporary Music Impact .
